Do a lot of you have pilonidal cyst or pilonidal disease along with your HS? I didn’t know the bump on my tail bone for about a year or so was a pilonidal cyst. It started hurting bad earlier this week, and it’s been draining and flattening since. I’m really scared about seeing a surgeon because I’ve never had surgery on any of my HS flares, and I’ve had it for 14 years at this point. Just need someone to calm my nerves because I’m really scared ya’ll. What have been your experiences with HS and pilonidal cysts?

Update: I’m on leave now. My surgery is January 8th and hopefully be back to work January 29th if it all goes according to plan. My coworkers don’t seem to understand the severity of my situation or the god awful teeth clinching pain. They think I’ll get denied FMLA, but I know I won’t.
