Whats your experience with hiatal hernia surgery

I'm thinking about having it done in the future. Was just wondering what are the experiences with redditers out there. Does it manage or cure your gastritis, is your fight or flight under control, hows your overall digestion now? I would love to learn as much as I can about this before making this jump.
