Hi everyone,
We have some early exciting news that herpes cure advocacy is now officially a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with tax exempt status from the IRS. We can now accept donations that will be tax deductible from individuals, corporations and foundations.
We are so excited for the next phase of our work to begin we have big plans for the long term and cannot wait to impact change for herpes cure treatment and prevention. Real change takes professional resources - and requires funding. You cannot cure herpes with volunteers chatting on Reddit - no matter how passionate they are. Real change means real organization, and real resources both financial and human.
Our work has been groundbreaking and really more progress for herpes than has been seen in decades. Hopefully we’ve built enough trust with this community you’ll help us raise the funds we need to keep going.
We will soon be launching a fundraiser to hire our first Executive Director who will lead the organization. We also plan on hiring a Advocacy PR agency who we are super excited to work with and can help us get the high visibility press that we need to create urgency amongst decision makers in the US.
The timing is great - next week I will be in DC with Drs. Larry Corey, Anna Wald, Jeffrey Klausner, Keith Jerome, etc. and many others leading public health in the US who have power to change the field.
We’re hoping to be able to post in the r/herpescureresearch sub and are waiting for the moderators there to let us know if it will be approved. Also, could use community support in general with promoting the fundraiser once it is live. If you want to help please let us know.
More to come - if you want to support the fundraising effort, have thoughts, questions or ideas for us please let us know.
Warmly, Brother
