Post Body

Its been a tough couple of weeks. Had my first outbreak 2 weeks ago. Started with difficulty peeing and fevers. I thought i had a UTI but the pain on peeing was searing. Got antibiotics which did not settle my fevers at all. Finally once i saw the ulcers, i realized what it was and panicked like crazy. I cried so hard all alone in my apartment. Called the guy i was seeing to tell him what i saw. Went to see my doctor who took swabs and started me on antivirals for 10 days. It definitely helped the fevers but i still couldn’t walk without pain, couldn’t sit down properly, it hurt so bad to pee i tried to avoid peeing if i could. Was so exhausted all the time. And work was gonna deduct my pay for missed days. Now, the ulcers seem to have healed but they look whitish and sloughish (since they were on the crevices of my genitals). It doesn’t hurt to pee and i’m gaining my energy back. I have a persistent itch that comes and goes at my vaginal opening and had a look down there. Gonna try and test for BV just to be safe. Checked my bum because it itches (sometimes feels like there’s insect or a worm) and found a red itchy bump at the opening. Not fluid filled. I’m hoping it goes away. Seems like many people get postoutbreak itches from what i could read. Can’t really tell anyone or talk to anyone about it in details. I feel really alone in this. Glad i found this reddit.
