So, I have a bit of a complex around this. I swear I had this conversation with a guy I was seeing like 13 years ago, and even then it tripped me out a bit. It's like I told him, but he acted as though the conversation never happened. As in, he talked about how messed up it was that people would go around infecting other people with herpes - like Usher and Jim Carey - after I was pretty sure we had talked about it.
There are SO many legal ads for suing people that make the bar for proving lack of disclosure, and just last night he brought up the Jim Carey story. I lost it - just launched into a tirade over bullshit health stigma - his response : "It sounds like you have herpes." So, now he'll never forget, because I was very loud and clear and it was actually a bit of a relief that for once disclosure wasn't in the context of some awkward interaction with someone I hardly know.
Still, not impressed, but I just can't help but wonder - What reason is there for someone to admit to the fact that they have been informed in no uncertain terms? What's to stop them from still trying to sue you as they continue with the situationship?
Feeling like a target, a little paranoid, and PO'ed.
