It’s kind of funny because now she’s down to have a casual hook up when she was before…up until I disclosed. She has type 1, and I have type 2. I’m currently towards the back end of a breakout where the scabs are healed for the most part, but also still visible. I’ve told her that we should wait until they’re gone if we’re going to hook up. She said she’s horny and doesn’t care because she’ll just take medicine to get it to go away if she has a breakout. Apparently she doesn’t seem to know that she can get type 2 in addition to having type 1. I’ve been shut down by every person I’ve disclosed to but one, so part of me thinks fuck it, go ahead and do it because she’s aware of the consequences, and the other part of me still has a conscience that doesn’t want to knowingly put someone at risk. I’m trying to convince her we should wait for the scabs to go away completely. I’m conflicted on if I should tell her she can get two types of herpes because I don’t want to talk the only person the past 6 months willing to have casual sex with me out of having sex with me. Any advice on what to do here?

Update: I asked her if she’s aware she can get both types of herpes and she said yeah and she doesn’t care because “herpes is herpes, and people won’t care which type she has and will either accept it or reject her for it” or something along those lines. Ended up telling her we should wait because I don’t really feel comfortable messing around with literal scabs still around from a recent breakout. At this point I’m not sure what I’ll end up doing. Back before I got herpes I had a decent amount of casual sex and it pretty much just made me depressed and lonely after because after it was done I’d just leave, so I’m not sure if I’ll end up going through with it or not.
