So about 7 years ago I was in a bit of a jet ski incident. I basically got off the darn thing to soon and a wave knocked the jet ski into my left leg then came back around and knocked me in the stomach . I went ER and a torn meniscus, labrum of the hip and s rotator cuff were all noted . My inlingual hernia was seen and probably happened at that time ,but because I was hit on the left and the hernia was on the right it was disregarded and I was told if it did not bother me not to worry. Over the years my right side went through lots of pain along with feeling nausea , a body that could not walk well and a lower abdominal area looking like I was putting on weight and deformed. I had complained about soo many symptoms that could have been hernia related for 7 years and not one Dr or specialist ever said “ those symptoms could be from that inlingual hernia you have”. Fast forward to September this year I thought I had a boil or tumor developing on on labia . Went to my GP , sent out MRI and she sees the same darn inlingual hernia that was there 7 years ago . She then says well since it is now bothering you I’ll send you to a specialist. The darn thing was so big the specialist thought I had multiple hernias . It had strangulated my digestive system and creating all kinds of mayhem . I was thrown into surgery in less then a week . All of a sudden a miracle happened . My right hip pain went away , my bloated gasey stomach is now better , I have no more nausea, I can breathe better . I can sit down longer . All these symptoms I had been going to Drs for 7 years and not one ever thought it could be hernia related. I’m not saying that a hernia surgery is right for everyone but if you have a hernia and other symptoms that could be related , do not disregard or let your Drs. I was in a serious danger zone . I m super happy I’m now on the repair and can’t wait for this coming spring to come around again so I can feel good in a two piece once again .
