Before my surgery, I would experience pain in my belly button, only after meals. That is, when I don’t eat everything is fine. But immediately after a meal, there would be a gurgling sound, with the feeling of something twisting in my stomach, and pain localized to my belly button. There was a bulge in my belly button, so I thought the pain was due to the hernia so I went ahead with surgery. I’m one week post-op, hernia is fixed with mesh. But I’m still experiencing this gurgling sound and pain in my belly button after meals. Again, the pain only happens after I eat. When I don’t eat, everything is fine. There is no swelling, redness, or warmth, or new bulge, so I think the mesh is still intact. Anybody experienced this before with an umbilical hernia? I’m just a bit frustrated because I thought the surgery would fix this.
