I have a laft side inguinal hernias, confirmed by physical examination at the Shouldice hospital. I doubt I will move forward with the Shouldice repair and more likely go with laparoscopic repair (next appointment).
The thing is...pain is moderate, buldge is small (barely noticeable). It's mostly just general discomfort, dull pain, uncomfortable popping sensation when I laugh/cough sometimes.
I'm sure some people have much more obvious need for surgery than myself, but for those that don't... How have you made or are making the choice to proceed with surgery? What is the indicator that made you choose to proceed (or not).
Really struggling about whether to proceed with major surgery for minor pain/discomfort. Also keeping in mind it will never improve and will likely get worse. I'm not the type of person to put things off, but have made the made the mistake of acting too quickly the past.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
