Need help, chronic pain post surgery 1+ Year
Post Body

23 M, Had laparoscopic right side inguinal hernia with mesh surgery last year in mid January. Been over a year and still have pulling pain and discomfort and tightness in my abdomen.

Started lifting and going to the gym after 3 months, have had constant pain even though i’m in the best shape i have been. I have a hard lump in my pubic area by the inguinal canal where the hernia used to be. It gets inflamed and bulges more after activity and makes my abdomen very tight. It also is bigger when my bladder is very full(noticed I can’t hold it as long as i used to)

had a ultrasound (laying down) a few months back and doctors said there is no reoccurrence, even though laying down they probably couldn’t see it anyways.

My question is, is this swelling of the groin normal? Maybe scar tissue? My lapro scars are in the middle of my stomach lined up with my belly button so not sure why there is swelling in the groin.

scared of reoccurrence and shelling out more money to be told it’s normal and will take a while to heal. it’s been over a year and is this swelling from being too active? I’m so young and feel like this is holding me back causing back pain, abdomen tightness and pain after excersise and this lump/swelling of the groin worries me.

anybody have similar experiences?
