Does anybody else feel like the fact that there 'was no Charlie' and she was a demon all along kind of takes away from the movie? What made the twist so shocking is that you're lead to believe the obviously creepy kid is going to eventually be revealed as the bad guy, but then she just suddenly peaces out halfway through the movie. IMO it's way more jarring if you can then look back on her behavior as just a 13 year old kid being weird because 13 year old kids are weird, and realize you were tricked into interpreting that behavior as sinister due to horror movie tropes.
I also felt compassion for the kid throughout the movie, she seemed to be struggling emotionally and was grieving her grandma, just didn't seem to be a malicious person like you'd expect a 'king of hell' to be. Even her spirit in the end sequence just seems scared and innocent. It also kind of takes away from how much her family loved her and how much they struggled with losing her.
