This could also fall under the âjust diagnosedâ categoryâmy family has known about my grandmotherâs C282Y hemochromatosis, for about two decades. It really shouldnât have been a total shock that, after years of health problems and long-COVID, my genetic test just returned a positive for the same mutation.
Iâm trying to read as much as I can about the condition, to manage itâhowever, my lab results are confusing to me. With this kind of low TIBC/ high transferrin saturation, shouldnât my iron also be high? Why is my ferritin not also higher?
I had anemia symptoms and low iron/rbc, this time last year. Shouldnât that be, theoretically, impossible?
Anything you can tell me, even if itâs just anecdotal, is appreciated! Iâm flying blind!
