Hi there, I’m hoping to be able to find a replacement for a pendant I inherited from my Granny. I don’t have a the BEST picture of it, but possibly enough to help someone else ID it. It was solid gold, though I don’t remember what karat, and the cat was very Siamese-like, and sitting, not standing. I can’t tell you where she ordered it from, but I can almost guarantee it was from an ad in a magazine, TV guide, or even the newspaper’s coupon insert, remember those ads, that came with an order form? Ah, nostalgia.

After my granny passed, I wore it daily for two years. Until one day, my new boyfriend found out his water had been shut off because all the money he gave his roommate for utilities, she spent on weed. I hocked the cat to get the water back on, and he never had the money or inclination to get it out. It was the only thing I inherited from her that hadn’t been stolen from her condemned home before we could collect it, like her 1 oz gold nugget pendant with a 2 karat diamond set into it 😡

In the picture seen here, the pendant is flipped so it’s back is showing. The front was not pressed flat like the back, iirc; it was rounded. And MAYBE the cat had diamond chips for eyes??? 🥴 I think about this necklace damn near daily, and that is NOT hyperbole… I’ve been diagnosed with OCD, (not just like omg it’s so messy my OCD is going crazy, real “mixed obsessional thoughts and behaviors,”) and it’s an intrusive thought that keeps me up at night, sometimes for hours. So if someone can locate it, or even the advertisement it was sold from, I honestly can’t say how I’ll react, except that I know I’ll cry.

Happiest of hunting, and I’ve got all my fingers and toes crossed, waiting with bated breath. 🫶🏻
