Representation can be great - it's helped many communities.
However, sometimes it feels similarly eerie on how close people get to the "transvestigators" when we talk about how "This random imp clearly has female horns!" and "This is what top surgery scars look like!"
Constantly scanning for sexed features and having people fetishise them (I saw someone call top surgery scars "hot") makes me (and many I know) deeply uncomfortable. People are unaware that cis people ALSO have top surgery for similar issues , and with the rise of exposure - there's unfortunately been cases where it is no longer safe to exist in a public space without facing harassment.
Not to mention people reducing Sally May down to her gentials - or implying Fizzarolli must be a trans man (or like a trans man) because he's so feminine and small.
Being sexually attracted to characters is fine, and wanting representation is great, but this all doesn't feel like good support - it feels like stereotyping and fetishism.
Just needed to get that off of my chest, everyone is entitled to their own spaces, and I'll be taking my leave from this one
