This sub boldly states that all Hellenists are revivalists. But I don't identity or think of myself as such. I think of myself and identity as a reconstructionist. I think it's smart to think of it as more of a methodology though.
But are there are "denominations" in Hellenism? Because Orphics and Neoplatonic Hellenists both definitely have views that I don't prescribe to their views either. Same with revivalists that have UPG.
I think that some neopagan religions can only be revivalists only because some of them have very little or limited historical evidence to based their praxis on. But I also think some religions, such as Religio Romano, Hellenism, and perhaps Kemetism, have a ton of actual historical evidence to be properly reconstructed, more or less.
I don't want to break any sub rules but just want some discussion on this topic.
Tldr; I consider myself not a revivalist but strictly as a recon and idk why that's against this sub's rules.
