Ok, now I know this is a widely discussed topic on the forefront of everyone’s mind with release of the new war bond and the frankly kinda useless weapon that is the tenderizer, but I just wanted to share my thoughts and see what people think
The weapon nerfs in the game are a lot, I won’t deny that there’s not much in the way of buffs, but I think every weapon still serves its own purpose, at least of the weapons I’ve used. A couple of examples are the shotguns, the punisher is good for getting enemies off your back and wiping out small bugs and hunters, the breaker is good for fighting large crowds, the breaker incendiary is even better, which is reasonable considering it costs more medals and takes longer to unlock,… I’ve not tried any other shotguns. The grenade launcher remains a good support weapon, serving as an incredible tool for dealing with bug nests. The machine guns serve as good alternatives to the flamethrower for lower level players who can’t get it yet. The flamethrower is unparalleled in its ability to take out large crowds, similar to the breaker, but it can also help deal with heavier armored targets. The auto-cannon is good, just, generally it’s an incredible weapon, though I’ve found it serves better against the automatons. My point is that, whilst guns have been nerfed, every gun fills some kind of niche, and it’s up to the player to choose a gun that fits their preferred play style. Of course, I’ve not mentioned every gun simply because I don’t play with them, so don’t feel qualified to say anything about what niche they fill, if you do, say something down in the comments
