The PS5 was scalped for literal years (I know someone who paid 1k for theirs in 2021) barely sold to real people just sitting in scalper's garages and basements collecting dust and not making Sony the revenue money they need from PSN membership fees and people buying games. A few months ago they announced their failure console the PS5 was entering it's late lifecycle stages after disappointing sales.

Sony just wants to access Helldiver's 2 player data to sell it. That's all it's about and will ever be about. There is no "security/safety" concerns that are addressed by making another account for a game months after release. If anything more accounts especially with Sony who has a data breach every other day is a security risk. The shareholders are desperate to drain us for every marketable dollar they can get and that includes data.
