Love the game so far but I'm having keyboard trouble!

Greetings fellow helldivers! I've been enjoying the game so much but I have this issue, the game doesn't recognize the "y" and "z" keys, I swapped them to other keys on the menu keybindings but I still can't type them in the chat which makes communication rather uncomfortable (specially lacking the "y", does anyone have any tips? I'm using a German QWERTZ keyboard. Thanks beforehand!
