Hi, I like the spear. Well I like the idea of the spear. I like the idea of supporting teammates with long distance anti-heavy armor weapons and taking the heat off everyone else. My kill count may not be high but at least you know most of the titans/tanks/hulks/etc will be taken care of. It's fun to me, and the spear, when working is fun to me. However the spear needs help. As I just took it in to suicide runs all weekend and was ultimately frustrated by it.

The spear needs a lot of help in it's targeting, as it is the most finnicky targeting system in gaming. Sometimes if things move too much it can restart the whole targeting cycle, or if they're too close or even a little bit obstructed the spear doesn't target at all. Not to mention, you can not pick your targets if there is a big mob of them. Nor will the game give you the biggest target in a mob. For example in two bot drops (at the same time) a tank and some walkers were dropped. Both enemies were held up in a narrow gorge. I pulled out my spear, licking my chops at easy targets only for the spear to only lock on to the walkers. Which I view as a waste with only 4 rockets to use. While I would suggest that this finnicky targeting is acceptable if the damage pay out is worth it, it is far from worth it.

When you look at the spear on your ship, it's advertised as taking out tanks in 1 shot. I have yet to 1 shot anything other than the walkers. Bile titans 2-3 shots, tanks 2-3 shots, hulks 2 shots, and the only thing you could argue it 1 shots is chargers. But even then it just bleeds them out if you can manage to hit them. I have missed with a targeted charger and the distance between the charger and I was not close. Now I'm not asking for a lot here, either live up to the demo video or don't. Either way I think the spear, at the very minimum, should 2 shot tanks and bile titans. Maybe even a lucky chance for a 1 shot like the rail canon orbital strike strategem.

While it is a frustrating weapon to use there are times when things line up perfectly and a lot of headaches can be eliminated without targeting weak spots. I.e. the bot canon towers. Or even bot factories can be locked on to and destroyed from a long distance. And I mean, lonnnnngggggg distance.

I don't want this to be meta, or overpowered, I just want it to be fun and rewarding where it is lacking in both departments. I'd love to even see a target selection system or even an analog mode where you can select where you want the rocket to go. This could be extremely fun as a sort of backpack artillery. As the CEO and the community say, play with what's fun to you. However I shouldn't have to sacrifice my overall ability to contribute to the team with a subpar weapon to make that happen or make it harder on myself in the process.
