I've seen the criticism that the game might get stale in the late game with little grind after unlocking everything, a pretty dominant meta emerging, and nothing to spend your resources on. Thus I think introducing some specializations that can be unlocked and invested in, but also easily switched out of, could bring in another late game grind outside of the early game grind.
Imagine once hitting level 20 or even 25, that 4-8 specializations for your helldiver have opened up to be unlocked with a combo of resources. These specializations can be further upgraded the more you invest.
Something like a Scout Sniper that offers bonuses/buffs to precision weapons, i.e. anti material rifle/diligence would have dmg and stability bonuses. While also rewarding stratagems like airstrikes but offering debuffs to sentries and etc. Or maybe an orbital artillery specialization that focuses solely on buffing orbital strikes at the cost of airstrikes. Etc. Etc. Etc.
This could shake up the late game and bring some less popular tactics into the forefront for some, thus allowing far more creativity/risk reward playstyles.
Just my two cents.
