So, finally got to set up my miner at a friends place about 2 weeks ago.
Equipment used:
Miner: Sensecap M1 ; Antenna: Interline 8dbi directional panel antenna, vertical opening 60°, horizontal opening 70°, Cable: 60 cm LMR100 windows pass-through cable with approx 0,5dbi signal loss; heavy duty sucting cups ; insulating tape ; grounding cable
He lives on the top floor of a house on a hill slope, so an antenna could potentially cover the 180° in front of it. For this reason I wanted to get an omnidirectional antenna, but mounting it without drilling holes in the roof tiles and getting the house owners permit wasn't possible. Second best option would have been the same setup but with an omnidirectional antenna attached to the window, but all quality antennas where too long for it (gotta close that thing at some point), so went for the directional antenna and it doesn't seem to perform much worse than the 8dbi omnidirectional in the next hex. Tilted the antenna slightly downwards, because the vertical opening is so huge I'm shooting towards the sky no matter what.
Attached some grounding table to his radiator, for some peace of mind, no idea how effective it will be, but I'm hoping the radiator is grounded. Skipped on the lightning arrestor as there is one on the rooftop higher up.
