What makes the Bell UH-1 Huey still so popular and how long can it really remain in service around the world?

Post Body

The Huey has been the main helicopter of choice around the world after the Mi-8 and yet both are still flying over 60 years later. I read an article where it is expected to fly for another 30 years as long as they are maintained and consumables are replaced.

What makes it so popular to run when newer more advance helicopters are around with better fuel capacity and seating?

And why is it so popular with poorer countries for their army, SAR as well as private transports for their heads or state?
