Pre owned hedgehog?

Hi,
I have been wanting to adopt an African pygmy hedgehog for quite some time, but they are really scarce where I live. However, someone relatively close to my city is selling their hedgehog because they are moving out to live abroad.
Of course I won't make such a purchase before a thorough talk with the seller, but I just wanted to know whether there were fundamental problems about adopting a hedgehog that has already been owned?
