Iāve had my Hedgehog, Sonic, for a little over a year. When I first got him he was a gift for my stepdaughter, but as time has gone on sheās become less and less interested in him so Iām stepping in. The folks I bought him from said that I can just feed him cat food, which has definitely kept him alive but heās not very big (maybe about 16oz if I had to put a number on it). We were told to use cedar shavings for bedding, which heās seemed to enjoyā¦ but if heās not being held he spends most of his time curled up in a ball in his enclosure. Currently heās living in a tote that was supposed to be temporary with plenty of holes in the top for him to breathe, but I want to upgrade. This tote is about 32ā long, 18ā tall, and 20ā wideā¦ which I personally feel isnāt really big enough for him. Iāve been working over the road and my stepdaughter didnāt do any research on the care for this guy so I just want to make his life better. Any info helps, please donāt belittle me or degrade the attempts we have made as we did do as much research as we could (her mother and I). Reddit didnāt cross my mind until just now, so againā¦ any info helps. We (my wife and I) just want to provide the best life for this little dude as we can.
