Ideas for my ENT re unexplained hearing loss?
Post Body

Hi! First time posting here. :) I suddenly lost most hearing in one ear, after a flight. My ear never "unclogged" after landing. My ENT saw no structural problems with a scope, but installed a tube (now on my 3rd) which helped drainage. No explanation why the eustacian tube suddenly stopped working. I'd like to understand this better, and find possible courses of action.

I've never had ear infections, so this seems strictly a drainage problem. The ENT suggested a possible eustacian stent (downside: it never closes) or a bypass canal (downside: water can get in). I just had a CT scan and will see the ENT soon to discuss results and options. I'm discouraged and might just opt for a HA, but the fluid still needs to be addressed. And if I could actually hear better then great.

ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR QUESTIONS or topics to bring up? Many many thanks. I'm a 50yo professional music teacher, so this is a big challenge.
