Hello,
Â
It’s that time for new hearing aids. I’ve been using my Bolero Q90 M312’s since October 2014 and they’ve been pretty good for the most part. I use them with my Phonak ComPilot to take calls at my current job. The ComPilot is kind of annoying to have to wear around the neck though, but I make do for now.
Â
I went and seen my audiologist who said my hearing has stayed pretty much the same since 2014, so that’s good. I have two choices with my insurance, and both cost the same to me, about $18xx.00 USD.
Â
My options are the
Oticon MORE 1 miniRITE
Phonak Paradise 90 RITE
Â
From what my audiologist says I’d have to have some sort of little clip-on to use the Oticon like I do my current hearing aids as the Oticon doesn’t have the same Bluetooth technology to connect directly to other Bluetooth devices? Apparently the Phonak connects directly to other devices without requiring the little clip. The Phonak is also more resistant to perspiration and sounds a bit more rugged in build quality. The Oticon on the other hand sounds like it has better sound quality to it. My audiologist also said something about computers with IFTTT technology and that if my work laptop has that then both hearing aids will work with it. My IT department confirmed my laptop simply has Bluetooth.
Â
Has anyone tried these and what are your thoughts? I don’t know what to expect in terms of how much better these two models will be versus my old Bolero’s.
Â
Confused…
