I recently opened my relationship in June and it was a lot of fun in the beginning. Unfortunately I have gotten some issues with two yeast infections as well as bv once. During this time I have also had issues with spotting and irregular periods. I have a coppar iud that I've had since I met my bf four years ago. So I'm used to random spotting, but it's just been more and for several days before and after my actual period (my periods are usually light). I have been tested for sti:s, and I didn't have any fortunately. I've been to the gynecologist once, but since I just happened to get a yeast infection the day before, the main focus was mostly to get treatment for that as well as my bv, and I now suspect I have another case of bv so I guess I need another appointment 🥲
I'm not sure if I want any practical advice or not. I'm just wondering if there is any hope to stay healthy while sleeping with multiple people? This subreddit has been very helpful and I guess I need to learn how to take better care of my vagina overall. It's just a little sad that I'm having less sex than I did when it was just me and my bf, and I was hoping for more. It kind of kills the mood when I'm sore after yeast infections and when I worry about different infections returning. The past few weeks I've only slept with my bf and my fwb, both without condoms after getting tested for sti:s. I would rather not use condoms unless it's with someone other than my bf or fwb, since my first yeast infection occurred after having sex with a condom and I think condoms chafe a lot and can cause tears where candida can grow. But I don't know, right now I'm just gonna avoid having them cum inside me for a while and see if that helps to avoid getting bv over and over. And I'm also gonna check my ph at home regularly.
So basically I'm wondering if anyone else have a similar experience while having multiple sex partners, and what did you do to avoid this problem?
Edit: I'm not looking for advice about STI:s. I'm mostly interested in advice from people with similar experiences and/or with a similar lifestyles. Thank you!
