I'm currently watching the recent interview between Dr. K and MoistCr1tikal, and the discussion of YouTube algorithms came up, so I thought I'd share some solutions I've used.
I've been using the addon "Unhook" that completely removes the side bar and redirects to the subscriptions page when you try to access the home page. It's available for Chrome, Firefox, and even Edge. It has a lot of toggle options so you can tailor it to your liking. I'm not sure if there's a good mobile solution, but I make it a point to avoid YT and other social media apps on my phone.
I'm not too worried about anyone on this sub being radicalized, but there are other reasons you'd want to avoid it. Personally, I feel that blocking recommendations has made the site less stressful and addictive.
Hope it helps.
