Dr. K and HealthyGamer.gg Community,
I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 7 and have been medicated up to about 21 years old. After which I had no health insurance and couldn’t afford care.
When I got to 30 I got rediagnosed with just bipolar disorder and at 33 I got on disability.
Before disability I tried my best to hold jobs but every time it got repetitive or boring I ended up losing interest and either quit or got let go.
My latest psychiatrist has noticed that I still have ADHD (which I kind of knew) and we both think my bipolar might be a misdiagnosis. I’m finally back on ADHD meds and slowly getting off the bipolar meds. I’m seeing progress in my mental health finally now feel confident I might be able to work.
But I’m afraid of failing I heard there are jobs that are better for people who have ADHD. I even applied to be a coach for you. I have no experience beyond my experiences in life with ADHD. I also think working at a veterinary clinic might be good for me since I love animals.
My wife and I are working on moving back home to Chicago. There isn’t much for work I can do in this rural upper thumb of Michigan.
Any advice is helpful thanks in advance Derek Aka PapalPenguin
