Went to a psychologist, Am I missing something?

I did it, after how much help I have received from Dr.K and his channel, I decided that I should take his advice and go seek help. I also believe thats the next step to being the best version of me, knowing there are issues in my past that I may need the help of another human to solve.

Out of the three Therapist/Psychologist/Psychiatrist, I decided to go to a psychologist. (Four if we include life coach, but ill get into that below)

I am fully aware that what Dr. K provides is not therapy, So I proceed with no expectations.

After three sessions and $250aud per session, It feels somewhat nice to have someone to talk to but… after every 55 minute session, for the most part all that happens is I’m referred to other online resources through email, kinda like I have to do my “homework”. In those actual 55 minutes its just me talking with barely any self realisations (one session had one, but thats it).

If going to a psychologist is just going to refer me to online resources I could have just accessed on my own, why even pay $250, also I benefited a lot more in my life from a single Dr. K video than 3 sessions with a psychologist.

Additionally, I mentioned to my psychologist that I could possibly just go to another psychologist who would be a lot cheaper (at $60) and they started saying how most cheaper psychologist arnt well trained in trauma and treating it.

Where am I going with this.

Am I missing something? Would I have gotten a different result with a therapist or a psychiatrist? Is it just a person problem and try someone else?

Ideally I don’t want to just be referred to online resources as “homework”, I already do that well on my own. Is life coaching the answer?

My problems are not as much mental health as before, and i wanna focus more on the social aspect of my life, so i dont need to be diagnosed or anything, maybe life coaching would be better suited?
