I have been in a better head space lately but I figured I would ask a question that could help other people and myself. I have lived in my current city for almost 6 years, have made some friend, but outside that I feel like my social life has stalled. On top of this I have been dealing with some drama from some former friends. But those things alone have not been my main focus. The cost of living, my pay, and ability to invest in property have been.
My pay has been stagnant for 2 years. In addition, I may have an opportunity to flip the equity from my unpaid for house into a house that would be paid for and lower my debt. I worry I am having the grass is greener on the other side moment, but I feel I have an opportunity to grow my wealth and probably career by moving to this new city that is 3.5x bigger than my current city. I also have another property I am renting out and that has been going good. Has anyone dealt with this and is my personality built for jumping from boom town to boom town like my parents (we moved 4 times in my childhood) or is this just smart sense if an area has become overheated and I want to pursue better opportunities? My company does have an office in this new city and I could cut my cost of living and cut my taxes with the move. I know this self improvement is a bit different than purely social, but I want to make sure I am moving towards something and not based out of fear (cost of living being too high or running away from drama, which included threats from former friends). Thanks.
