Hey guys! It’s me again!
So upon posting here, and also posting in the in ear, Fidelity, so bri, I’ve come to the conclusion that the Audeze IEMs are probably my endgame audio experience. I am growing away from headphones, and I am starting to want some kind of a lightweight compact audio experience while I’m at home relaxing at my PC for eight hours plus daily. The thing is, I’m at a bit of a conundrum, and could use some advice.
The first pair or rather set of odd Izzy in your monitors that I was looking at that I’ve recommended are the Isine10/20. The problem with these, however, is that a lot of people mention how the hook mechanism on them breaks very easily, and the second problem about them is that they are discontinued. So there is some level of fear that these in your monitors that I purchase are going to be basically a paperweight if they ever break. Also, currently the only listing on Amazon is the 10 series, and it’s listed for $400. I’ve seen some people mention they are able to get the 10 series for as low as $150, so I think Amazon is possibly charging charging exorbitant prices here.
After this, I started looking into possibly other offerings that they have made in the past that are similarly open backed in your monitors. The problem is, from what I understand, the only other in your monitor that they make that is open is basically $2500 I believe? And it’s the LCD for I. The problem with that, is that it is substantially out of my budget. I’m living off of disability money here, and I’m not related to Bill Gates.
So what do you guys think I should do? Should I chance it and purchase the 10 series and possibly look into some aftermarket hook mechanism that someone can 3-D print for me? Is there possibly another website somewhere with a nice warranty that sells the 20 series or even the 10 series for cheaper?
I’m also fine with looking into some solutions for some kind of a transparency mode, although this will be fairly difficult. I don’t really want to go, truly wireless, and I want to kind of stick within my room of driver technology, that I know I love, plan. So truly wireless is kind of out of the question, and I’m not sure if there’s any other way, I could get some kind of a transparency mode.
Thanks for any help you guys can provide though! You’ve been very helpful as of late. Thank you!
