Hey gang!
I recently purchased the Hifiman Edition XS, per the recommendation of this sub. I've been loving them - thanks!
I'm now looking for something a little more mobile - think coffee shop, outdoors, etc. I want to be able to pack it up in my pockets or side bag easily.
I just purchased the Qudelix 5K to be my mobile DAC/Amp. I'm hoping I can find a nice set of wired ear buds to use with it. Some noise cancellation would be nice, but by no means needs to be absolute.
Here's the catch - in-ear silicon tips irritate my ears if I used them more than 30 minutes at a time or a few hours in a week. I use the Pixel Buds A-Series for the gym and occasional phone calls and I've gotten several ear infections from usage, despite wiping them with alcohol wipes after almost every session. I'm looking for something that I can use for a couple of hours at a time without issue.
I was hoping to find ear buds that rest outside the ear canal, with good drivers and ok noise isolation. If that's not possible, I'm also open to over-ear closed back headphones, but they need to be somewhat compact and/or collapsible so I can easily pack them up.
Budget is ideally ~$200, but I'd consider options outside that range if they're significantly better.
