Is there any place I can still buy the SHP9500s for a good price? Or is there an alternative open pair I should check out instead.

Post Body

So for a while I have been interested in purchasing a pair of SHP9500s from Phillips. I have heard many good things about them and was eager to try them out. I don’t know why but for some reason I just kept putting them off. I would get the money to get them, then something would come up and I would have to spend said money, or I have to wait and save up more so I could take care of something else before buying them... for what ever reason. I never got around to making the purchase. I looked recently to check if they were still around the price they are usually at, 50-70 dollars, and the price has sky rocketed. Now they are well over 100 dollars, sometimes 200 dollars.

Does anyone know if there is a place or a way I can get them for their original pricing, or is there another open back headphone, that is relatively affordable, that I should check out?

Budget: 50-100, maybe to 120 but that’s pushing it a bit.

How gear will be used: Mostly home listening.

Preferred tonal balance: I like things neutral.

Preferred genre: I listen to pretty much everything. But mostly rock (punk and metal), jazz, blues, some classical stuff, and the occasional rap or hip hop song that goes by.

Past experience: I have a pair of M40xs and I love them very much. I would just like a pair of open backs since these are closed.
