SoundBlaster Z good enough?

Post Body

I'm planning on upgrading to something like an Edition XS from a Fidelio X2, and I'm wondering if my SoundBlaster Z will drive it ok, or if I should invest in a new DAC/Amp as well. Is there any real benefit to getting a modern DAC over this 10-year-old soundcard? There is not much left in the budget if I buy the XS. Are there any DACs you recommend and will I be able to tell the difference? I've heard planners require an amp, but the one built into the Z seems pretty powerful as the gain is almost unbearably high with my X2s so I have to set the volume at like 4 in Windows.
