Hey all! It is an exciting time where my band has built a IEM rig and now all the hard stuff is out of the way it is time to select my actual IEM gear, I have narrowed it down to 3 options, however I am open to other options
- Moondrop Starfield: Learnt about these today and hear great things, but nothing about the isolation
- Shure SE215: These are what I am leaning towards due to the great track record.
- Mackie MP220: These seem like they might be even better due to the dual drivers.
Here are my overall considerations and things that are important
The type of music my band plays is Metalcore, an example of that is here.
I am the dedicated live guitarist for the band, It is 8 string, and down tuned. I play a mixture of leads and rhythm depending on the song and if we can get another guitarist with us for the live shows. Being low and fast music, snappy response is important.
HEARING PROTECTION: is number one, live I wear HEAROs ear plugs currently to protect my hearing and rely on stage monitors currently too (not ideal), so isolation and attenuation of outside noise is extremely important to me.
Budget: around that $200 AUD mark is what I am happy spending on my first rig ever.
Any advice or suggestions on those options or other options would be super appreciated!
Thanks in advanced!
