Just finished episode 5 and I think I may have figured something out.
Post Body

So, just finished the 5th episode so I do not know if this is confirmed or denied in a later episode or not, if it has I do apologize.

I also donā€™t know how spoiler-y this is, so this is your last warning.

Besides being one of the better episodes, 5 has stuck out to me as it showed that Alastor isnā€™t unbeatable since he somehow lost his soul. I honestly think that Lilith (Charlieā€™s mother, not sure if that is her name tbh) owns Alastorā€™s soul. I think this as this could give reason as to why he is at the hotel and so invested in it and helping Charlie.

If he can get Charlie to trust him enough, he could end up trying to make a deal with her to get her soul in exchange to help the hotel or something along those lines. Then that gives him a bartering chip with Lilith in order to get his own soul back. This would explain his ā€œinterestā€ in the hotel, and why he doesnā€™t improve it or help with it unless Charlie specifically sees him do so. Also seemed that in the first musical number that he definitely wants Charlie to have faith in him by comparing himself as a father to her.

Feel like this makes some sense, but wouldnā€™t mind and critiques or other ideas.
