As many of you are aware, the upcoming US presidential administration is the polar opposite of the previous one.

I strongly suspect that with its stated goal of persecuting alternative lifestyles such as LGBTQ, swingers, poly, etc. people will be next in the crosshairs.

Reddit is an OPEN platform that provides APIs that can be queried for everything you type, upvote/downvote, read, etc. Further, the information can be read by AI platforms (ChatGPT, etc.) to identify you based on things you've said. It can create a profile of you so accurate that it can almost definitely identify you personally, even if you haven't provided your name/address/etc.

Out of an abundance of caution, I'll be deleting my account of over a decade, and deleting all my posts/information, etc.

I strongly recommend you consider your accounts/presence on any alternative lifestyle sites or apps (fetlife, grindr, swinglifestyle, etc.). They will almost certainly be used against you. If not directly by law enforcement or government agencies, then by blackmail of people threatening to report you to them.

I am not the master subreddit mod, but have been the longest serving mod on this sub for many years.

I'm proud of what we've accomplished in providing a wonderful place full of wonderful people and all the fun and friends made along the way.

I hope I'm wrong about the future, but the risk/rewards ratio is no longer there in relation to safety.
