Hey guys! I’m hosting a fundraising event to get new books for the library! Ever since Chuck accidentally set fire to the non-fiction section (who would’ve thought that reading by candlelight was a bad idea?) we’ve been struggling to get more educational books for our children.

I know we all agreed last month, at our town meeting that we should use “substitute” materials for the kids leisure reading. But ever since we used Goosebumps and Animorphs to fill up the empty shelves on our new non-fiction display the kids have been asking a lot of questions. Sadly, I’m afraid I’ve broken little Timmy’s heart when I explained to him he would in fact not be transforming into a zebra anytime soon.

So to put an end to this, this weekend I’ll be hosting a family-friendly fundraiser! There’ll be face painting, games, ice cream and of course a bake sale! My goal is to raise enough money to at buy at least 100 new non-fiction books, and a large sign explaining that the monsters from Goosebumps can’t hurt you in real life.

The event is totally planned and now all I need is you! I’m looking for 8-10 volunteers to help me make sure things run smoothly. Plus any donations for the bake sale (such as some dark chocolate walnut brownies, I’m looking at you Miss Suzy B.) would be greatly appreciated! Stop by the library and sign up today!
