So, this is going to sound silly, and really it is, but as the title says, Haunted Mound completely changed my taste in women. Back in like 2021, I didn't really have a defined preference. For reference I'm white, and the girls I was after at the time were white too. I live in an area with a fairly mixed racial demographic, so I'd say there's a close to equal amount of black and white women. I didn't listen to Haunted Mound at this point, mostly just pop punk.

A friend of mine introduced me to HM and I wasn't super into it at first, but over time I started to really vibe with it. Now, you could definitely argue that this is a case of correlation not equaling causation, but in my eyes it's always been a direct thru line. It wasn't an immediate change, but I started noticing black girls at my school a lot more. At first at was small stuff like looking at a girl and thinking her hair looked really nice, which progressed to thinking some of them were pretty cute, which progressed to how I feel today. I haven't really felt anything for a white woman (or any non black/mixed women) for a few years. I don't think I would call it a fetish, as it isn't really a sexual thing, I just find black women to be a better fit for me. I've found them generally easier to talk to, nicer, and I guess more attractive too.

I'm sure most of you reading this are wondering what the FUCK this has to do with HM. Which is definitely fair, because I've been wondering the same thing for years now. Again it might just be two unrelated things, but by the time I got into HM I was already finished with puberty so I don't think it was a hormonal change or anything that caused it. I have thought about why this is for years now and after thinking on all other factors I've came to the conclusion that my listening to Haunted Mound is probably what caused it. As for why this is, again, not totally sure. My only theory is that I hadn't really been exposed to much black culture before, so maybe I just vibed with it especially hard? Hell of a stretch I know, but I cannot come up with anything better. I know Oscar has/had a very pretty black girlfriend, but I don't think I knew about her for quite a while.

I know this probably sounds insane but I really want to know if anyone else has experienced this or something like it before. It's not like it's a change I think is negative, if I had a choice to revert to the preferences I used to have I definitely wouldn't, but I'd really like to know if anyone has any idea why the fuck this happened. Sorry if this is too off topic, I don't know where the fuck else I would post this. Thanks in advance for any replies, jokes or otherwise.
