cost of leather seats for a Mazda 3 2023

My uncle is looking to buy a Mazda 3 with red leather seat but is bothered that the price where leather is included is so much higher than the base model.
We are therefore thinking of buying the base model and getting 3rd party leather seats put in.
Reason being that he can choose exactly the color he wants at a much lower price.
Are we wrong ?
