I know that Hashimoto's is not the worst autoimmune disease to have, but at the same time, it's so frustrating to be told "Oh don't worry it's so manageable" by doctors and friends when I'm a 19-year-old girl still stuck in subclinical hypothyroidism.
I'm just so done with the on-and-off night sweats, feeling either too hot or too cold, having irregular bowel movements and appetite habits, and constant weight fluctuations. The constant irritability, sadness, and random insomnia are exhausting too. At the same time, all the extra hormone that's being dumped into my system makes me feel like I'm on a constant emotional roller coaster.
It's hard because I can't tell which days are going to be bad or not, I can never predict what is going to happen next, and when it interferes with schoolwork or classwork, I just feel so bad about it. Because I'm still in that 'temporary hyperthyroidism" I can't be treated for it yet and I wish I could just tackle the problem now.
My most recent bloodwork showed my Lymphs (absolute) were 3.7 and my free T4 was 1.63. My TSH was 1.13. I also want to clarify that the doctor's found out I had Hashimoto's after doing an FNA biopsy on a nodule that had grown to 2cm but thankfully it was not malignant.
The results definitely seem to explain some of the symptoms I've been having. I just wish I knew what could help. I need help with combatting night sweats and temperature sensitivities, and my energy levels are so up and down that I never know how to plan my day now. If there's anyone on here who has experienced school while dealing with Hashimoto's and could offer some advice, I'd really appreciate it.
