Starting Low Dose Naltexone (LDN) -Here's my story
Post Body

Well, My doctor put me on LDN, and I just got the script last night. Since there is very little information about LDN and how it relates to Hashimoto's, I thought it would be a good thing to report my experiences with the drug for others to read. The doc put me on .5mg to start with, and will increase it as needed.

I have been kind of nervous to start this treatment. As there isn't a whole lot of information about it (for Hashimoto's specifically) , I wasn't sure what to expect. The only side effects reported were vivid dreams. Since I already have vivid dreams what the heck does that mean for me? Nightmares?? "Acid Trip" (really crazy) dreams as I call them?

Started my first dose last night. .5mg before bed. I seemed to sleep hotter than normal and had to remove an extra blanket. Unsure if that was related. I did dream pretty much all night. They were vivid but not out of the ordinary for me.

I woke up actually feeling refreshed this morning! I actually woke an hour early before my alarm and didn't feel like I needed an extra 5 hours of sleep. I went back to bed for that extra hour, and found it was pretty easy to rouse myself out of bed this morning. Normally, I do not wake easily, even with 7 hours of sleep. This is promising, but it is only day 1.

I will report back with more as I continue to take it.

UPDATE: Week 1 report in the comments.
