What the doctor said
Post Body

My thyroid antibodies are at 239 but my thyroid function is normal range. I saw an endocrinologist today and he told me that it is commonly seen in 1 of every 5 women (especially so in women with pcos and insulin resistance such as myself) and it doesn't mean I'll for sure end up hypothyroid. He said to do my routine labs and keep an eye on it. It could some day be an issue but it also may never be an issue. He said his mother had the antibodies and didn't need medication for hypothyroidism until she was 72. Dr also said that many things can be playing a role such as getting off my birth control after being on it for 20 years and my hormones are being effected. He said I can still take semaglutide for weight loss and weight control as needed. Thought I would share this info for anyone else who's head spiraled like mine! All the research I did was correct.
