I've always wondered if marijuana had any effects on thyroid function, especially for Hashimoto's. I smoke quite a bit because I struggle with other medical issues affecting eating and sleeping. I find that weed helps with getting an appetite or getting ready for bed, or when I'm freaking out and need to calm down. Sometimes it helps me get motivated, but that is also because I'm a frequent smoker.
At the same time though, since my recent Hashimoto diagnosis and thyroid cancer scare (i don't have it, a biopsy revealed that.) I've been wanting to reevaluate my lifestyle choices and see whether or not things are going to help me or not.
I smoke basically every day, whether it's using a pen or a dry herb vaporizer, but I've been trying to cut down lately. I am curious to know whether or not it helps or doesn't help my thyroid condition, too. I feel like some of my appetite and sleeping issues also have to do with my Hashimoto's so I don't know whether that means I should keep smoking or try to quit altogether and find alternatives.
