I was not a gamer at all before playing this game. I got the Xbox Series S during Black Friday, and Hogwarts Legacy was the first game I got. I haven’t done any RPG or open world or any sort of game like this in the past — I’ve only played Minecraft or COD as a kid.
I’m a big Harry Potter fan and have been really looking forward to this game for the past couple of years. I pretty much got my first console because of this game. But I’m now 15 hours in and at level 18, and I feel like putting more hours and effort into this is a chore. In terms of where I’m at in the story, I just helped Natty free the hippogriff, went to astronomy class, and will go to the second trial soon.
Do things get more interesting? Is there payoff anytime soon? I don’t find the repetitive, slow tasks and homework with little impact on the storyline or characters very interesting, and I wonder if it’s just me and how I’m not used to playing a story-based game for this long, or if it’s the actual game itself. I think people say this game takes about 40 hours to complete, and I don’t know if it’s worth another 25 hours. I really loved the first several hours of exploring and learning and fighting, but it’s become tedious.
Thoughts? Would appreciate genuine input and not criticism/arguments.
