Up until now I've been playing on easy. Personally I'd rather play on easy, than give up playing on normal because I'm not having any fun.
I've been struggling with the broom time trials (I'd love to blame the controls for this one, but it's probably 60% my incompetence) so I thought maybe if I turned the difficulty down to story then it would give me a longer time to complete the track. I was only a few seconds out, couldn't get round the track without missing at least 1 hoop, and just got fed up of trying.
It didn't give a longer time, but did allow me to skip after I failed, and allowed me to carry on as if I'd won. Brilliant!
I don't care if its 'cheating', I'll take that over a rage quit any day.

It gets way easier once you start unlocking the tier 3 gear traits as well. I'm finding that I can wipe the world bosses in just a few seconds with two basic cast combos and one Bombarda after putting the traits on that boost damage. Not even joking, at one point I killed one who was in a story area with multiple basic enemies and didn't even realize it until ten minutes later.
