I know that JK Rowling wrote Cedric’s character with intentions to kill him off. I also believe that Cedric’s death is an important milestone in Harry’s character develop. But I LOVE the relationship that Cedric and Harry have at the end of GOF and the way they both protect each other. I would have loved to see their friendship continue throughout the books. I can imagine Cedric being one of the people who believes Harry about Voldemort’s return. I imagine him being part of Dumbledore’s Army, and returning for the battle at Hogwarts. I believe Cedric could have been a source of comfort, support, and loyalty in books 5-7. Obviously this could not have happened because for Cedric to live, Harry would have had to take the Triwizard cup for himself- and that is just not who Harry is. But it’s nice to imagine.
I agree. I think they're just both such genuinely good people and kind hearted that they held a mutual respect for each other. To me, it's like a work colleague that you really respect and work well with, but at 5pm you both go your separate ways.
That little badger was a good egg 🫡. I'm team green, but he's still one of my favorites.

His death makes the graveyard scene extra hard to get through. It's like being slapped in the face before an already hard moment
