I have an 86 fxr. I’ve been told it’s a superglide but I’m not 100% sure. Also, I think it has a delkron engine but I wouldn’t think that makes a difference for my question.

1: my oil filter has come loose and is hanging. It looks to me like there’s a bolt that goes though a plate under the starter that would hold the oil filter bracket thing in place (I can see a bolt and I think a washer sitting on top of the plate I mentioned). What’s the easiest way to access this to reattach the oil filter? Will I have to remove the starter to get to it?

2: my clutch adjuster screw broke. I noticed this the other day when I was trying to adjust the clutch. I had a new one ordered but it looks way too long (about twice as long as the old one, and half of the new adjuster screw isn’t threaded). Did I order the wrong part or am I just over complicating this. How do I replace the clutch adjuster screw? I just don’t see how it would attach, let alone how I could get the derby cover back on.
