I'm 5'10" . I just put the gauntlet fairing on my FXBB and have around 500 miles with it at highway speeds. Honestly - I was hoping for a smoother riding experience with it. Like others have said, it does keeps wind off your chest. But I still experience a considerable amount of buffeting at my head when riding with both my half helmet and my full face. Maybe even more than without the fairing. I realize it's just a small fairing - but this is my impression and I was hoping for better.
Things I don't like:
The gap between the headlight and front of the fairing, and the bottom of the headlight surround of the fairing has a stupid notch cut out of it. Perhaps I'm being too obsessive, but this serves no purpose and makes the fairing look quite unfinished. I know I can get the headlight extension block, which would address both issues, but then I'm afraid the headlight will look dumb - sticking out all lonely at the front of my bike - when the fairing is off.
Pros:
The quality of the paint and plastic on the screen is fantastic, and the installation and mounting process is simple. I'm a buffoon when it comes to mechanical things and I managed to install it in less than an hour without fucking anything up.
I've had it up to 85 or so mph and have not experienced any vibration of the fairing itself. Rock solid.
Aesthetically, I think it looks fantastic and really goes with the lines of my bike - other than the issues mentioned above.
I received a laminar lip today and will be installing that to see if it improves things. I'll let you all know how that goes.
